About Omne Yoga
“Omne”
Derived from the Latin word "omnis, Omne (pronounced OM-NAY) refers to “whole” and “universal”. We believe yoga should be taught in a way that affirms you are not broken or incomplete when moving through big things. Rather, each of our individual traits, stories and path to being where we are now make us whole and complete beings.
Omne can also be translated as “everything / everyone”, reflecting accessibility as one of our key core values. We believe yoga may not necessarily be for everybody, but it should be accessible to everyone. Through our multi-faceted offerings, trauma-informed teaching and celebration of individuality, accessibility is one of our key core values.
“The most fundamental teaching of yoga is that we are full and complete spiritual beings… The yoga practices are designed to lead us back home to ourselves…They’re not about healing us, fixing us, or fitting us into a mold. But rather, peeling away the layers that are blocking our experience of that truth.”
~ Jivana Heyman (Founder of ‘Accessible Yoga’) ~
Our Core Values
Accessibility
Whilst yoga isn’t for everyone, it should be available to everyone! Regardless of health status, background, location or finances, Omne Yoga strives to create a wide range of services that means more people can access a safe and empowering yoga experience.
Inclusivity
The majority of yoga taught in the West unfortunately does not create yoga spaces that welcome diversity. At Omne Yoga, we celebrate individuality and honour you as a whole and complete being. We believe yoga is a practice that meets you where you are rather than you needing to be a certain type of person to do yoga.
“If you can breathe, you can do yoga”.
~ Tirumalai Krisnamacharya ~
Person-Centred Care
Yoga by nature is intended to be a holistic practice, and as such we teach with each unique person’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing in mind. Our 1:1 sessions particularly will prioritise your own unique set of needs and goals.
Kindness
In yoga, this is known as Ahimsa. At Omne Yoga, kindness towards ourselves, towards others and our planet is intertwined throughout all of our teaching. Yoga is a practice that extends beyond the mat and kindness underpins many of the traditional teachings for yogic living.
Our Approach
Each class, whether it be a group or 1:1 setting, is taught with care and through a trauma-informed lens. This means sharing yoga in a way that is empowering, inclusive, celebrates individual choice and prioritises nervous system regulation.
Our variety of offerings aims to make yoga as accessible as possible. We offer a FREE weekly online class in our community Facebook group, in-person group classes in Northern NSW and personalised 1:1 sessions both in-person and online. Alicia’s classes draw upon both the traditional roots of yoga and modern evidence-based practices. This may include:
Hatha, Ashtanga and Yin yoga lineages
Trauma-informed and evidence-based meditation and mindfulness practices
Traditional breathing practices (pranayama) taught with trauma-informed care
Whilst accessibility is at the heart of what we do, we also prioritise staying within the scope of yoga and acknowledging its incredible benefits as well as its limitations. We endeavour to continue up-skilling in the yoga and mental health space to ensure our teaching remains inclusive, safe and within scope. If for any reason we are not the right fit for you, Alicia has a referral list of other incredible teachers and practitioners that she can connect you with.

Meet Alicia
550hr Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher + Founder of Omne Yoga
Hello, I’m Alicia! Thank you for being here. This space and the intention behind Omne Yoga is my heart’s work and I am honoured to be of service in this way.
I completed my first 200 hour training in 2022 with the intention of learning more about yoga for my own personal practice. As part of that training, towards the end of the 28 day immersion, we were required to teach our own class. The joy and sense of purpose that this experience gifted me led me on the path and role of teacher that I am so honoured by today.
I quickly realised as I began teaching community classes that teaching yoga was a much bigger role and entity than I had originally thought. I originally treated it as a side gig and a “fun” job outside of my corporate work as an optometrist. But yoga wasn’t simply about teaching a fun and relaxing form of fitness - it was a space that I came to quickly realise as a teachers we held a lot of power. By holding the space of a yoga class, we hold space for people to tend to their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. As a long-term student myself, I can appreciate the trust that we have in teachers to hold this space for us with care, especially on hard days and through difficult seasons of life. Research shows that mental health wellbeing is one of the key reasons that people turn to yoga and as a teacher, this felt like a huge responsibility.
In light of these reflections, I signed up to study a 350 hour certification in 2024 with Jala Yoga, in my opinion one of the best trauma-informed yoga schools in the country. The senior teacher Mollie, whom I now so gratefully consider to be a beautiful mentor and friend, is a wealth of knowledge and an incredible asset and role model within the trauma-informed yoga space. This training equipped me with the skills to approach yoga teaching from a trauma-informed lens, which essentially means person-centred care and creating a yoga environment that feels safe, empowering and welcoming to beings from all walks of life.
My intention with Omne Yoga is to create a space within the yoga community that embodies my knowledge from my trainings, my own experience as a yoga student and my passion for creating accessibility. From burnt out professionals, individuals with disabilities, to those identifying with PTSD and trauma, know that you are welcome here and are deserving of a space that feels safe, empowering and welcoming. Whilst bringing this standard of yoga and trauma-informed care to every single person is my forever goal and passion, I also honour that I am one human and do not always have all the right knowledge and skills to be the right teacher for every person. Please know that if for any reason I am not the right fit for you, I am abundantly surrounded by other wonderful trauma-informed yoga teachers, practitioners and therapists that I can refer you to. Rest assured, your wellbeing and safety is at my forefront.
Outside of yoga teaching, I am a student to yoga first and foremost. To keep things real, I don’t have a physical yoga practice every single day. My personal practice extends into how often I choose to be present and mindful with day to day living and noticing throughout my day where I can choose kindness first and foremost. Yoga to me is also sometimes just the simple act of pausing to take 3 deep breaths when I feel overwhelmed or running on empty. These tools and rituals are just as, if not more important, than my time on the mat.
I am also a mother to my divine son Elijah and live with him, my fiance and 2 cats in Northern NSW. You’ll find me most days spending time in nature with my family or cozied up on the couch with my Kindle and a herbal tea.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here.
May Omne Yoga be a safe space for you.
